Build a one-sheet plywood gravity feeder with a rear storage hopper, sloped internal floor, controlled feed throat, full-length chicken-access trough, and hinged loading lid. This digital package combines a complete illustrated guide, measured blueprints, a CNC layout, and a 3D reference model.

IMPORTANT CAPACITY NOTE

The verified conservative usable volume is approximately 2.264 cubic feet, or 16.94 gallons. Depending on feed form and density, this corresponds to roughly 57-85 pounds of common dry chicken feed. One common 50-pound bag fits with reserve room. This feeder should not be advertised or operated as a guaranteed two-bag or 100-pound unit.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

- One 28-page complete building-guide PDF - One 7-sheet measured blueprint PDF - One DXF CNC layout file with inch units - One STL file for 3D model reference

The guide includes orientation, finished dimensions, capacity calculations, complete purchasing guidance, a measured component schedule, one-sheet layout, 12 ordered construction phases, checkpoints, correction notes, daily-operation guidance, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

WHAT THE PLANS BUILD

The finished feeder is approximately 54 15/16 inches long including the lid, 12 3/4 inches deep, and 20 5/8 inches high. The body uses a clear 48-inch internal span with a rear hopper, sloped baffle, rising floor, feed throat, front trough, and three-hinge loading lid.

The internal geometry is designed so feed moves toward the trough as birds remove it. Capacity is based on the true hopper cross-section after accounting for the walls, baffle, trough, inaccessible lower area, and operating headspace.

PROJECT SCOPE AND REQUIREMENTS

The guide covers sheet inspection, profile layout, one-sheet cutting, matching the two side profiles, fitting the body panels, establishing the floor and baffle relationship, squaring the cabinet, aligning the lid, inspection, placement, filling, daily operation, cleaning, and repair.

The supporting structure, chicken coop or run, mounting system, optional finish, feed, and other poultry accessories are not included. Use the feeder only with dry feed and place it where it remains stable, protected, accessible for cleaning, and appropriate for the flock.

BEGINNER-PACED FORMAT

The guide rates this as a confident-beginner project. Estimated working time is approximately 6-9 hours, excluding optional finish cure. One helper is strongly recommended for full-sheet handling and lid alignment. Each phase contains checkpoints and troubleshooting guidance.

WOOD COST GUIDE

The wood-only planning subtotal printed in the guide is $42.37, based on Georgia, USA online pricing researched July 30, 2026. This wood subtotal excludes taxes, delivery, tools, hardware, finish, feed, mounting materials, and other non-wood items. Verify current local price, availability, and sheet condition before purchasing.

DIGITAL DOWNLOAD

This is a digital product. No physical feeder, plywood, hardware, tools, feed, CNC-cut parts, printed plans, poultry enclosure, or accessories will be shipped.

The DXF identifies inch units, but scale, kerf, toolpaths, hold-down strategy, and machine settings must be verified in the buyer's CNC software. CNC setup and operating instructions are not included.

The STL is supplied only for 3D model reference. STL files do not store measurement units, and the model is not a replacement for the written guide or blueprints.

PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE BUILDING

Written dimensions control. Do not scale from pictures. Verify actual panel thickness, fit, feed-contact surfaces, lid travel, placement stability, and animal clearances before use. Keep poultry away during cutting, assembly, optional coating, and curing.

These plans provide educational DIY guidance and are not engineering or architectural documents. The buyer is responsible for safe construction, suitable materials, animal safety, maintenance, and local requirements.
